The CJP says its volunteers were assaulted while inspecting a government school allegedly operating from a cattle shed. Villagers reject the charge, accusing the team of arriving with a large group and attempting to dismantle the school structure.

August 21, 2026: A school inspection has erupted into a full-blown political showdown in Rajasthan, with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) accusing the BJP government of shielding those behind an alleged assault on its volunteers and giving the administration 48 hours to make arrests. The CJP has also put Education Minister Madan Dilawar on notice, threatening a statewide agitation and demanding his resignation if the government fails to act.
The confrontation in Jaipur district has turned the CJP’s campaign over the condition of government schools into a direct challenge to the Rajasthan government, while competing accounts from villagers have complicated the picture of what happened during the inspection.
The incident took place in Rampura Kanwarpura village, where a CJP team had gone as part of its “School Thik Karo” campaign to inspect a government primary school, assess its infrastructure and interact with teachers and students.
CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka alleged that the team was attacked by people linked to the BJP and accused the police of failing to intervene. He claimed the confrontation was pre-planned and began before the team could even reach the school.
According to Ranka, vehicle windows were smashed, mobile phones damaged, a woman volunteer was assaulted, his shirt was torn and one member of the team suffered a fractured hand. He also alleged that stones were thrown at the group.

“We had gone to inspect the school in Rampura-Kanwarpura village. For the past several years, the school has been operating in a buffalo shed,” Ranka said, claiming that the CJP had inspected the school last year as well but found little change in its condition.
Ranka then issued a direct warning to Education Minister Madan Dilawar, giving the government 48 hours to arrest those allegedly involved in the incident.
A team of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders was attacked and chased out of a village in Jaipur when they went for a school inspection.

“You have 48 hours. These goons must be arrested,” Ranka said, warning that failure to act would trigger a statewide agitation. He said the campaign would then expand beyond the condition of schools to demand Dilawar’s resignation.
Ranka described the incident as “a black day in Rajasthan’s democratic history” and accused the police of remaining passive despite being informed about the alleged violence.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke also accused Rajasthan Police of allowing the attack to take place. He posted a video on X showing a vehicle with a smashed window, presenting it as evidence of the alleged assault.
What Happened at the School?
The CJP said its team had gone to document the condition of a government primary school that had been declared unsafe. According to the organisation, classes have been conducted in a cattle enclosure near the school building for about a year.
The party said the makeshift arrangement illustrated the poor state of government-school infrastructure and was precisely the kind of issue its “School Thik Karo” campaign was intended to expose.
The team’s visit, however, was met with resistance from local residents, who have strongly disputed the CJP’s version of events.
Villagers denied attacking the CJP workers and instead alleged that the organisation arrived with a large group and attempted to dismantle the school structure.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, a local resident, claimed that between 200 and 250 people accompanied the CJP team. He denied that villagers assaulted the visitors and said the confrontation remained verbal before the situation escalated.
“We did not do anything. They had brought 200–250 people with them. We did not hit them. We spoke to them calmly, but they broke their own car,” Sharma alleged.
Sharma also said ₹12 lakh had already been sanctioned through the local MLA for repairs to the school, challenging the CJP’s suggestion that the administration had ignored the condition of the building.
Another resident, Anu Sharma, said villagers objected to the CJP team’s activities because around 20–25 students were studying at the school. She described the episode as a “heated exchange” rather than an organised assault.
The competing accounts have not been independently established, and police have not publicly confirmed the allegations made by either side.

CJP Versus Rajasthan Government
The clash comes amid an already tense confrontation between the CJP and the Rajasthan education department over access to government schools.
The education department had imposed restrictions on the entry of outsiders and mediapersons into government schools without a specific reason. The CJP has opposed the move, arguing that such restrictions could prevent public scrutiny of schools and conceal deficiencies in infrastructure and facilities.
Ranka had previously said the organisation would continue its inspections despite the restrictions.
The latest confrontation has therefore transformed what began as a school inspection into a larger political dispute over transparency, government accountability and the right to scrutinise public institutions.
Opposition Backs CJP
The incident has also drawn the Rajasthan Opposition into the controversy.
Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully condemned the alleged attack and accused the government of attempting to hide the poor condition of government schools.
Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra also condemned the alleged violence and claimed that BJP workers were behind the confrontation.
The BJP and the state government have yet to substantiate or accept the allegations levelled against them.
Police have also not confirmed the CJP’s claims. Bagru Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Sharma said he was unaware of the reported confrontation.
For now, the episode remains a clash of sharply conflicting narratives: the CJP says its volunteers were attacked while exposing the poor condition of a government school; villagers say the organisation arrived with a large group and provoked the confrontation. What happens in the next 48 hours, however, could determine whether the dispute remains a localised school controversy or develops into a statewide political confrontation.
