CCTV footage reportedly shows one shooter firing at Tiger Shroff car while a second appears to struggle with his weapon. Police are examining whether the firearm jammed, even as the actor escaped without bullet wounds.

Mumbai, October 19, 2026: Investigators probing the firing at Tiger Shroff BMW in Mumbai’s Juhu area have recovered five empty cartridge cases and two live 7.62 mm cartridges. The discovery has prompted investigators to examine whether a weapon malfunction disrupted the attack.

Preliminary findings indicate that police recovered five empty cartridge cases and two live 7.62 mm cartridges, raising questions about whether all the rounds intended to be fired were discharged.

The recovery of the unfired ammunition has prompted investigators to explore whether one of the weapons jammed or ejected a live cartridge during the attack on Sunday evening, October 18. Police are also examining whether the firearm used by one of the assailants was a Turkish-made Zigana pistol or a country-made variant. The precise weapon used has not yet been conclusively established.

CCTV footage raises suspicion of weapon malfunction

Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other video recordings that reportedly show one shooter firing multiple rounds at Tiger Shroff BMW. A second assailant, positioned closer to the passenger-side window where the actor was seated, appears to switch the weapon between his hands and struggle to operate it. In the available footage, he is not clearly seen firing.

The sequence has strengthened the possibility that the second weapon malfunctioned, although investigators have yet to confirm this theory.

Triger Shroff reportedly moved towards the driver’s seat as the gunfire erupted and escaped without any bullet wounds. He sustained minor injuries reportedly associated with shattered glass and gunpowder. His driver, Firdaus, and an auto-rickshaw driver identified in reports as Chauhan or Umesh were also injured.

Three accused held in Rajasthan

Police have arrested or detained three accused in Kota, Rajasthan, in connection with the attack. They reportedly include Rehan, from Haryana; Hrithik or Hritik Kumar, from Bihar; and a 17-year-old juvenile from Haryana.

A joint operation by Rajasthan’s Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota Police, acting on inputs from Mumbai Police, led to their apprehension after they reportedly arrived in Kota aboard the Pune–Jaipur Superfast Express. Further detentions have also been reported.

Investigators have seized the motorcycle allegedly used in the attack. According to reports, it was abandoned near Andheri railway station and is registered in Mumbai.

The police are continuing to investigate the suspects’ movements, the procurement and handling of the firearms, and the sequence of events captured on CCTV.

Two shooters.

One in the front of the car (S1) and one to the left of Tiger Shroff who is in the front passenger seat (S2).
S1 fires first shot at 0.07 seconds.

Its a long car (BMW-7 Series?) and he takes first shot from pretty close range. He’s standing at a position which is aligned with the left headlight of the car.

Footage shows he got the angle of the first short itself wrong. It was aimed more at the center of the windshield than towards passenger seat.

Then luck intervenes on the side of Tiger Shroff.

The car keeps moving forward. And because S1 took first shot from a close range, he has to jump and get aside or the car would’ve hit him.

S1 then fires two more shots. But because he had to jump to his right to get out of the way, these two shots are fired at incorrect angles. They are more towards middle to driver side of the windshield.

Even as S1 is jumping to change position, S2 walks upto the passenger side from the amongst the crowd, and aims directly at Tiger Shroff.

This is where the angels looking over him intervene!

S2’s gun does not fire. It most probably jams. He tries to clear the jam by sliding back the bolt.

It still does not fire!!!

He tries it once more, it still won’t fire.

(I think S2 was left handed)

By this time, S1 had already fired three shots. Both S1 and S2 decide to exit. There is motorcycle waiting for them right there and both of them get away.

We now know that Tiger Shroff’s driver got hit. Which can be explained by the angle at which S1 shot. But the real miracle is S2’s gun jamming. Otherwise it would’ve been a real close call.

Bishnoi gang claims responsibility

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting and issued fresh threats targeting individuals associated with actor Salman Khan. The threats have been linked in reports to the gang’s longstanding hostility over the blackbuck poaching case involving Khan.

Mumbai Police have registered an attempt-to-murder case under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the Arms Act. The investigation has been transferred to the Mumbai Police Crime Branch.

The gang’s claim of responsibility remains a separate line of investigation, and police are working to establish the roles of the arrested suspects and any other people who may have been involved.

Maharashtra government vows strict action

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the attack, describing the assailants as “cowardly individuals” and asserting that their efforts would be thwarted.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also visited Shroff and vowed strict action against attempts to revive gang-related violence in Mumbai.

Investigators are now examining the recovered ammunition, forensic evidence, CCTV footage and the suspected weapons to determine whether a malfunction affected the shooting. Whether the live cartridges were linked to a jammed firearm, an ejection problem or another cause remains to be established.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
