PM Modi holds review meeting to assess situation in Jammu & Kashmir
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a high-level meeting on Thursday with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and other senior officials to assess the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, which has seen a number of terror strikes in recent days.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister received a full picture of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, including current counter-terrorism measures.

The Prime Minister urged officials present at the conference to use the entire range of the country’s counter-terrorism capabilities to restore peace in the Valley.

PM Modi also spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha about the deployment of security forces and counter-terrorism operations.
Sinha also informed the Prime Minister about the efforts being made by the local authorities.

Back-to-back terror attacks in J&K over past four days
Terrorists attacked four locations in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts during the last four days, killing nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan while injuring seven security personnel and countless others.
Security forces conducted massive search operations in forest belts across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir to locate and neutralise the ultras responsible for the recent terror incidents in the Union Territory.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have issued sketches of four terrorists involved in two assaults in Doda district and promised a Rs 20 lakh reward for information leading to their arrest.
“Jammu and Kashmir Police has released sketches of four terrorists who are believed to be in the upper reaches of Bhaderwah, Thathri, Gandoh and carrying out terror-related activities,” a police spokesperson said.

Several Valley districts, including Sunderbani, Nowshera, Domana, Lamberi, and Akhnoor in Rajouri and Jammu districts, have been put on high alert after intelligence services warned of terrorist strikes on security forces.
According to officials, intelligence services have warned of terror groups’ plans to undertake ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attacks on security forces camps and installations, and have urged for maximum alert in the affected areas.
