The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a detailed advisory for candidates appearing in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.
The agency has outlined the mandatory dress code, permitted items, prohibited belongings, and security procedures that candidates must follow at examination centres across India.
The NTA emphasized that strict compliance with these guidelines is essential to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the medical entrance examination. Candidates failing to adhere to the prescribed rules may face delays during security checks or could be denied entry to the examination hall.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Dress Code and Permitted Items
Candidates are advised to wear simple and comfortable clothing while keeping security requirements in mind. According to the NTA advisory:
- Transparent water bottles are permitted inside the examination hall.
- Candidates may carry their admit cards in a transparent plastic pouch to protect them from rain or accidental damage.
- Religious attire and articles of faith, including turbans, hijabs, kalawas, and other faith-based symbols, are allowed. However, such candidates should arrive well before the reporting time to facilitate additional frisking procedures.
- Full-sleeve garments, light woollen clothing, and weather-appropriate attire may be worn if necessary, subject to enhanced security screening.
- Slippers and low-heeled sandals are recommended. Candidates wearing footwear with high heels may undergo additional checks.
Items Prohibited Inside NEET UG Examination Centres
To maintain exam integrity and prevent malpractice, candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying:
- Mobile phones
- Smartwatches
- Bluetooth-enabled devices
- Earphones and headphones
- Electronic communication devices
- Metallic objects
- Large belt buckles
- Heavy jewellery
- Any accessory that may obstruct security checks
Mandatory Security Checks for All Candidates
The NTA has made it clear that every candidate will undergo compulsory frisking before entering the examination venue. Candidates should report to their designated examination centres at the scheduled reporting time to complete security formalities without inconvenience.
The agency reiterated that adherence to dress code regulations and security protocols is mandatory. Any violation of the prescribed guidelines could result in candidates being denied entry to the examination centre.
