Chennai, June 19, 2026: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the inclusion of fast bowler Harshit Rana in India’s squad for the third and final ODI against Afghanistan, scheduled to be played in Chennai.
According to a media advisory issued by the BCCI on June 19, the Men’s Selection Committee has added Rana to the squad after the pacer successfully completed his rehabilitation program at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE). The 24-year-old has now linked up with the Indian team ahead of the series finale.
The decision comes as India looks to strengthen its bowling resources for the final match of the Afghanistan ODI series. Harshit Rana’s return is expected to provide additional pace and depth to the bowling attack, especially after spending time recovering from injury under the supervision of the BCCI medical team.
Rana has emerged as one of India’s promising fast-bowling talents in recent years, impressing with his ability to generate bounce and maintain pace. His inclusion signals the selectors’ confidence in his fitness and readiness for international cricket.
