Indian techie drowns at US Glacier National Park while on vacation
A 26-year-old Indian engineer drowned while on vacation with friends at Glacier National Park, USA. Siddhant Vitthal Patil, who is from Maharashtra, has not been located despite searches, and he is assumed dead, according to Glacier National Park authorities.
On July 6, Patil, who works in San Jose, went hiking on the Avalanche Lake Trail. Patil went over a huge rock and into Avalanche Creek while hiking. It is unclear if he slipped on a wet area of the rock or lost his balance.
Patil’s pals claimed they saw him go underwater and resurface before being taken away by the torrent into the gorge.

Maharashtra government writes to EAM to intervene in the matter
The Maharashtra government also wrote to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, pleading with him to intervene in the case and demanding that the US authorities find his remains.
Police believe Patil’s body was being held down by underwater obstructions such as fallen trees or rocks.
Patel had texted mother hours before death
Patil contacted his mother from the park just hours before the tragedy, according to his relatives on Friday.
Speaking with news agency PTI, his maternal uncle Pritesh Chaudhari revealed, “Last Friday, Siddhant called up his mother Priti from the park and told her that he has been in the park for three days with six other Indian friends and is enjoying the trip.”
According to Chaudhari, Patil informed his mother via text message that he would be returning to San Jose, where he worked for Cadence Design Systems, in three days.
