Authorities described the shooting as linked to a domestic disturbance, though details about the relationship between the suspect and the victims were not immediately released. Officials also withheld the identities of the victims and the gunman pending family notification.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office is expected to determine the official causes of death, while Shreveport Police are leading the investigation into the shooting. Bossier City Police are separately reviewing the officer-involved shooting involving the suspect.
The killings have sent shockwaves through the Shreveport-Bossier community, marking one of the deadliest episodes of domestic violence in the region’s recent history. Residents and officials expressed grief and disbelief over the scale of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of children ranging from toddlers to early teens.
