A shocking incident unfolded in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a 20-year-old woman and her younger sister were allegedly shot by the woman’s fiancé after she called off their marriage.

The victims, identified as Khushi (20) and her sister Nidhi (18), were attacked in Adarsh Nagar, Ghaziabad, at approximately 4:30 PM. According to police, the accused, identified as Jani, allegedly broke a window of the house and opened fire on the two sisters.

Eyewitnesses informed the police that the accused arrived at the victims’ residence armed with a firearm on Tuesday evening. Upon seeing him, the sisters reportedly locked themselves inside a room in an attempt to protect themselves. However, the accused allegedly fired at them through the window.

Police personnel responded swiftly to the incident and arrested the accused shortly afterward. Both injured women were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Authorities have confirmed that their condition is stable.

Indirapuram Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Srivastava stated that the accused was taken into custody by the Khoda Police. During questioning, he allegedly confessed to carrying out the attack in a fit of rage following the cancellation of the marriage alliance.

A case has been registered, and investigators are examining all aspects of the incident. Further updates are awaited as the investigation continues.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
