A 25-year-old private school teacher in Bengaluru allegedly died by suicide at her residence, leaving behind a handwritten note in which she accused her husband and sister-in-law of harassment. Police have launched an investigation and are verifying the allegations mentioned in the note before taking further legal action.
Teacher Found Dead at Bengaluru Home
The deceased, identified as Shwetha, was originally from Chikkamagaluru and had been living in Sunkadakatte, under the jurisdiction of the Kamakshipalya Police Station in Bengaluru. She was employed as a teacher at a private school in the city.
According to police, Shwetha was found dead at her home, and a handwritten note recovered from the scene has been seized as evidence.
Handwritten Note Alleges Harassment
Investigators said the note accuses Shwetha’s husband and his sister of subjecting her to continuous harassment and holds them responsible for her death.
In one part of the note addressed to her mother, she reportedly wrote that those responsible should not be spared if anything happened to her. She also expressed regret and sought forgiveness, adding that she no longer wished to continue living because of the alleged mental distress.
Police have not treated the contents of the note as established facts and are verifying every allegation as part of the ongoing investigation.
Marriage Took Place Four Months Ago
According to investigators, Shwetha and her husband were in a relationship before getting married around four months ago. The couple tied the knot at the Shakti Ganapathi Temple in Bengaluru’s Kamalanagar area and had been living together since their marriage.
Officials are now examining the circumstances leading to her death, including the claims made in the note and statements from family members and other witnesses.
