July 21, 2026: A young woman critically injured during the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ‘Sansad Chalo’ protest in Delhi remains on ventilator support at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, as political leaders visited the injured and the protest entered its second day.

The woman sustained injuries during Monday’s clashes between protesters and police.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, and Union minister JP Nadda visited RML Hospital on Tuesday. While the Opposition leaders met injured protesters, Nadda interacted with the doctors treating them.

Speaking after his visit, Kejriwal said all injured students and police personnel had been discharged except for one woman, who remains in the ICU in critical condition.

The violence erupted after thousands of CJP supporters attempted to march towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities.

The march saw repeated clashes after protesters tried to breach police barricades despite prohibitory orders imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Police used batons and tear gas to disperse the crowd. Delhi Police later registered an FIR at Connaught Place police station over alleged violence and vandalism during the protest.

The CJP accused Delhi Police of using excessive force, alleging that volunteers were beaten and dragged on the roads. Party leaders also claimed that activist Sonam Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo, was dragged by her hair during the police action.

Meanwhile, the protest continued for a second day on Tuesday, with CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke maintaining his sit-in at Jantar Mantar. Activist Sonam Wangchuk also continued his indefinite hunger strike, saying he chose not to end his fast after witnessing what he described as the “brutality against peacefully protesting youth.”

According to a statement issued by Delhi Police on Monday, more than 118 police personnel were injured in the clashes, while around 60 protesters also sustained injuries.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
