According to police reports on Thursday, Simran Singh, a former Radio Jockey and well-known Instagram influencer, reportedly died by suicide at her home in Gurugram.

According to officials, the woman, originally from Jammu and with more than 6 lakh followers on Instagram, took her own life on Wednesday.

A friend residing with her at the Gurugram Sector 47 apartment informed the police about the incident.

Officials noted that the house’s door was secured from within, and no suicide note has been discovered. Simran’s family received her body following the post-mortem examination.

Her most recent Instagram update was on December 13, showcasing a video of her, accompanied by the caption, “Just a girl with infinite laughter and her dress, dominating the beach.”

Officials stated that the Gurugram Police has registered a suicide case and initiated an investigation.

Simran was an acclaimed RJ and was presently working as a freelancer.

Who was RJ Simran?

Simran Singh lived in Jammu and was well-known locally, with her admirers referring to her as “Jammu Ki Dhadkan”. The 25-year-old had a connection with a prominent radio station until she departed and began her career as a freelance radio jockey.

Simran gained popularity on Instagram for her funny reels that entertained users. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has conveyed sorrow over the unfortunate and premature demise of the beloved radio jockey.

“Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah extended their heartfelt condolences to Simran’s family, friends, and countless fans during this difficult time. They prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to her loved ones to bear this unimaginable loss,” read a post by the Jammu Kashmir National Conference on X.
