Saurabh Netravalkar stars as USA stun Pakistan in T20 World Cup
The United States (USA) pulled off a huge upset by defeating Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 match on Thursday at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. The game had many twists and turns before it finally came down to the Super Over, when the co-hosts emerged as the winners.
The Super Over Drama
In the Super Over, Amir conceded 12 runs. He began by handing over a boundary to Jones, who comfortably cleared the third man region. Jones then took a couple, followed by a single as Amir attempted to hit the block hole. Amir bowled a wide, which Jones seized as an opportunity to sneak a bye. Finally, the United States set a target of 19 for Pakistan.

Saurabh Netravalkar began with a dot ball and conceded a four in the second. He was anxious after giving up a wide, but made apologies by dismissing Iftikhar Ahmed. Shadab could only take a single off the final ball, leaving him short of seven.
It goes without saying that Pakistan must rethink their strategy before their next game against Rohit Sharma’s India on June 9.
