The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have finally unveiled a brand-new teaser, confirming that the much-awaited action thriller starring Yash will release in theatres on August 26, 2026. After multiple postponements, the film’s latest promotional video introduces audiences to its stylised world while featuring glimpses of its star-studded female cast.
However, the teaser has also generated discussion online, with many viewers pointing out that despite the focus on the film’s female characters, Yash remains the only actor with an on-screen dialogue.
Toxic Teaser Opens With a Warning for Viewers
The nearly two-minute teaser begins with an unusual disclaimer aimed at audiences:
“Kids… stay away. Parents… make sure your kids stay away. Grandparents… make sure your kids’ kids stay away. Great-grandparents… at your own risk.”
The video then offers brief visuals of Kiara Advani and Yash on a beach before introducing the film’s leading women, including Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.
A voiceover reflects on love and relationships, saying:
“Love makes monsters of women. It is a beautiful illusion if one understands the depth of its deception. And yet, here we are fighting for his scraps of devotion.”

Yash Delivers the Only Dialogue in the Teaser
The teaser then shifts focus to Yash, who rolls up his sleeves and delivers the only spoken dialogue by any character:
“Ladies and ladies, do you want to come one by one or all at once?”
The sequence is followed by fast-paced action scenes featuring Yash alongside the female cast, interspersed with glimpses of emotionally charged and romantic moments. The identities of the women involved in these scenes are intentionally kept undisclosed.
The teaser concludes with the message:
“Intoxicating the world on 26.08.26.”
Fans Divided Over the Teaser’s Themes
Soon after its release, the teaser sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms.
Many viewers praised its cinematic visuals, large-scale production, background score, and international-style presentation. Others, however, questioned the film’s messaging, arguing that the teaser appears to centre almost entirely on Yash despite highlighting multiple female characters.
Several users also observed that none of the actresses are given spoken dialogues in the teaser, with Yash being the only character to speak on screen.
While some appreciated the film’s bold presentation, others criticised what they perceived as an emphasis on toxic masculinity and unequal character representation.
Yash on the Meaning Behind ‘Toxic’
Earlier, speaking about the film’s title, Yash explained that Toxic explores the complexities of modern relationships and human behaviour.
According to the actor, while fairy tales are traditionally created for children, the film attempts to present a “fairy tale for grown-ups.” He added that the word toxic has multiple meanings in today’s world and reflects the complicated situations many people experience in their lives, making it an appropriate title for the project.
