PM Modi-Joe Biden hold bilateral discussions centered on ways to deepen India-US ties
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday that the bilateral discussions between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Wilmington, Delaware have concluded.
The discussions centered on enhancing mutual interests in bilateral partnerships between the US and India, according to Jaiswal. Both leaders discussed their perspectives on regional and global matters, including the Indo-Pacific region.
Talks were extremely fruitful, says PM Modi
After the discussions, PM Modi departed from the Biden residence and shared on X that the discussions had been “extremely fruitful”.
“I thank President Biden for hosting me at his residence in Greenville, Delaware. Our talks were extremely fruitful. We had the opportunity to discuss regional and global issues during the meeting,” PM Modi wrote.
After the discussions ended, President Biden took to X and mentioned that the partnership between India and the US is now stronger than ever before.
“The United States’ partnership with India is stronger, closer, and more dynamic than any time in history. Prime Minister Modi, each time we sit down, I’m struck by our ability to find new areas of cooperation. Today was no different,” he wrote.

The Prime Minister was joined by the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, along with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Ambassador of India to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra. The US delegation consisted of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs T H Jake Sullivan, and US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti.
PM Modi arrived in US for 3-day visit for Quad Summit
PM Modi landed in the US earlier today for a three-day trip, during which he will participate in the annual Quad summit and speak at a prestigious event at the United Nations.
The Prime Minister was warmly greeted at the Philadelphia International Airport by a large group of Indian community members. He engaged with the local residents before moving on to a hotel in Delaware, where he will be lodging.
Upon arrival at Hotel duPont in Delaware, he was greeted with music, dance, and warm welcomes. At the hotel, the Prime Minister once again connected with the Indian community while a group of women performed the Garba dance.

Following his greeting to the Indian community, the PM mentioned that interacting with them was always a joy and he also showed his enthusiasm for an upcoming Indian community event on Sunday.
He tweeted, “The Indian community has distinguished itself in the USA, making a positive impact across diverse sectors. It’s always a delight to interact with them. At around 9:30 PM India time on Sunday, 22nd September, I will address the Modi and US programme in New York City. Let’s celebrate the bonds that connect our nations!”
