PM Modi leaves for the United States; to attend fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for the US for a three-day trip. He will attend the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit on September 21 and speak at an event at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
President Joe Biden is hosting the Quad Summit in his hometown of Wilmington.
“I look forward to joining my colleagues President Biden, Prime Minister Albanese and Prime Minister Kishida for the Quad Summit. The forum has emerged as a key group of like-minded countries to work for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. My meeting with President Biden will allow us to review and identify new pathways to further deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good,” the Prime Minister tweeted.
The Quad, also known as the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, includes India, the United States, Japan, and Australia.

The Quad Summit is anticipated to address the continuing tensions in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as maritime security, new technologies, and a bold initiative to combat cancer. India will be the host of the upcoming Quad Summit.
PM Modi to address Indian diaspora in US
In addition to participating in the Quad Summit, PM Narendra Modi will also have one-on-one meetings with various leaders, deliver a speech at an event for the Indian diaspora, and speak at the “Summit of the Future” at the United Nations General Assembly.
During his visit to New York on September 22, he plans to engage with the Indian community and meet with CEOs of top US companies to enhance cooperation in advanced fields like AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs.

White House announcement before the Quad Summit
The White House recently revealed the establishment of the House and Senate Quad Caucuses in preparation for the upcoming Quad Leaders’ Summit.
US lawmaker Rob Wittman echoed a similar statement and said that the cooperation between the United States, Japan, India, and Australia was “crucial for the future stability of the Indo-Pacific”.
US Congress member Rob Wittman expressed the same sentiment, stating that collaboration among the United States, Japan, India, and Australia is essential for maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
