On Sunday, the Indian Air Force (IAF) announced that Operation Sindoor – initiated as a counter-attack against the heinous assault by Pakistan-supported terrorists in Pahalgam – is ongoing, just one day after New Delhi and Islamabad declared a ceasefire.
“Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information,” the IAF declared on its official handle in X.
The IAF’s announcement arrives shortly after the US asserted it had mediated a peace agreement between the two bordering nations.
Nonetheless, the delicate truce appeared to endure for just a few hours before Pakistan commenced intense shelling along the International Border in the Rajouri sector and Srinagar.

Officials reported that the air defence systems resumed operations after multiple drones appeared in the area, with India intercepting at least four drones close to the Army headquarters.
Explosions were even reported in Srinagar and Baramulla on Saturday evening, leading Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to ask, “What the hell just happened? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!”
India used Brahmos missile to hit Pak bases
Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alongside Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, verified the deployment of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in Operation Sindoor.
The Indian military allegedly targeted Rafiqui (Shorkot, Jhang), Murid (Chakwal), Nur Khan (Chaklala, Rawalpindi), Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian (Kasur). The airfields at Skardu, Bholari, Jacobabad, and Sargodha experienced significant destruction. Precision munitions were also aimed at the radar facilities in Pasrur and Sialkot.

As stated in the IE report, it is probable that air-launched precision weapons, including the HAMMER (Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range) which is an air-to-surface precision-guided munition, the SCALP, an air-launched cruise missile, and the BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles were employed in the assaults.
The IAF’s Rafale fighters can launch both the HAMMER precision-guided munitions and SCALP cruise missiles.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, an official at Saturday’s special joint briefing by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs, stated that India’s strikes targeted technical infrastructure, command and control centers, radar installations, and weapons storage sites. The PAF air base situated in Murid, in the Chakwal district of Punjab, Pakistan, hosts its Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles and UAVs.
