A cab driver associated with Ola has been arrested and booked for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 23-year-old woman in Bengaluru after intentionally deviating from the route displayed on the navigation map.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, the incident took place on June 9 at around 1:30 PM when she was travelling in an Ola cab. The woman alleged that the driver suddenly changed the route and drove towards a secluded and poorly lit location instead of following the route shown on the map.
When questioned about the deviation, the driver reportedly told the passenger that he was taking an alternative route. However, after reaching the isolated area, the accused allegedly moved to the passenger seat and attempted to sexually harass and disrobe the woman.

The victim managed to alert someone about her situation, which reportedly caused the driver to panic. Realising that the woman had informed another person, the accused allegedly forced her out of the vehicle, allowing her to escape the situation.
