Mihir Shah hid in resorts across Maharashtra to avoid arrest
Mihir Shah, the primary suspect in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run, contacted his girlfriend 40 times after ramming his expensive vehicle into a 45-year-old woman in the city’s Worli neighborhood on July 7. Mihir Shah had traveled to numerous locations in Maharashtra and hid in resorts as police were searching for him following the incident.
When Mihir Shah’s girlfriend learned about the tragedy, she called his sister Pooja, who picked him up from Goregaon. She then returned her brother to their home in Borivali.
After returning home, Mihir Shah and three of his family members, as well as his friend Avdeep, drove to a Thane resort in two cars. After a few hours, they traveled to another resort in Murbad.
The group then traveled to Shahapur on Monday. The same evening, Mihir Shah and Avdeep left for a resort in Virar, while the rest remained at Shahapur.

Mihir Shah was ultimately detained on Tuesday
Mihir Shah was finally arrested on Tuesday following a nearly 72-hour statewide manhunt when Avdeep turned on his phone for 15 minutes, allowing the police to track him down to Virar.
Before arriving in Virar, Mihir Shah visited Nashik, Igatpuri, Ganeshpuri, and Thane.

Police to recreate crime scene
Meanwhile, Mumbai police claimed they questioned Mihir Shah and BMW driver Rajrishi Bidawat, who was also engaged in the incident. A police team recreated the crime scene from CJ House Worli to Sea Link Worli in front of the accused.
According to the sources, the accused confessed to his crime and expressed repentance for what he had done.
Mihir Shah had hidden his phone somewhere while fleeing, and the authorities are looking for it now. The BMW’s number plate must also be recovered. As of Tuesday, 12 cell phones had been retrieved from Mihir Shah’s acquaintances and family.
Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader Rajesh Shah, said that he was driving at the time of the accident but denied being inebriated.
Mihir Shah’s luxury car rammed a two-wheeler from behind in Worli, killing Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was riding pillion, and injuring her husband Pradeep.
Mihir Shah was placed in police custody for seven days, till July 16.
