Kanpur/ October 14: In a brazen midnight strike, a gang of masked robbers barged into the farmhouse of newly appointed BJP State Secretary Ramesh Yadav, held him hostage at gunpoint, and fled with cash and valuables worth approximately ₹50 lakh.
The incident took place late Monday night in the Sen-Paschim Para area, located about 15 kilometers outside Kanpur, merely hours after Yadav had celebrated his political elevation.
Yadav, who was appointed State Secretary of the BJP’s Pichhda Morcha (Backward Classes Wing) on October 1, had traveled to Lucknow on Monday to formally assume charge of his office. After a day marked by congratulations and celebrations, he returned to Kanpur late in the evening to rest at his farmhouse.
According to Yadav’s account to investigators, the criminals struck around midnight and appeared to have arrived fully prepared. The masked intruders stormed the premises, swiftly overpowered Yadav, and tied his hands and feet. Leaving him incapacitated, the gang ransacked the residence, scouring the premises before making off with ₹50 lakh in cash and jewelry.
