CBI raids 15 locations pertaining to the case

The CBI conducted raids at 15 locations on Sunday as part of an investigation into suspected financial misconduct at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The central agency searched the properties of ex-principal Sandip Ghosh, former medical superintendent Sanjay Vashisth, and 13 others in Kolkata and its surrounding areas.

The Kolkata-based anti-corruption branch of CBI also conducted raids on the homes and workplaces of suppliers providing materials for patient care at the hospital, which has been under scrutiny following the reported rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College.

‘Paschim Bangal Chatro Samaj’ demands resignation of Mamata Banerjee

The ‘Paschim Bangal Chatro Samaj’ has organized a march to the secretariat called “Nabanno Abhijan” to request the resignation of CM Mamata Banerjee by August 26. If Banerjee does not step down, the community will organize a protest march towards the Secretariat on August 27.

Polygraph Test of Sanjay Roy indicates unconvincing answers

Officials said the CBI administered a lie detector test on Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect in the trainee doctor’s rape and murder case, at Kolkata’s Presidency Jail, where he is currently being held. On Saturday, four individuals, one of whom was former principal Sandip Ghosh, took the polygraph test.

The polygraph test administered on Sanjay Roy, the primary suspect in the purported rape and murder of a medical intern at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, apparently indicated numerous deceitful and unconvincing responses.

After Roy denied any involvement in the case, the CBI administered a polygraph test on Sunday (August 25). While being tested, he claimed that the female physician had passed away before he arrived at the seminar hall of the RG Kar hospital where she was discovered on August 9.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
