In a surprising revelation, actor and former supermodel Muzammil Ibrahim has claimed that he was in a serious relationship with Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone for nearly two years. Speaking in a recent interview, Muzammil said their romance began before Deepika made her debut in films, during her early days in Mumbai.
“We Were in a Relationship for Two Years”:
Muzammil shared that their relationship started when both were working in the modeling industry. According to him, Deepika had just moved to Mumbai to pursue her career, and it was she who first expressed her interest in him.
“Deepika proposed to me. We were in a relationship for about two years. It was a beautiful time. She was just starting out then, and we connected naturally,” he said.
Rickshaw Dates and Early Struggles:
Opening up about their time together, Muzammil described their romance as modest and grounded. He recalled how they used to take rickshaw rides in the rain, grab simple meals, and support each other through their professional struggles.
“We used to go out on rainy days in a rickshaw. I was already doing well financially, but she was just beginning her journey. There was a realness to our relationship,” he added.

Why They Broke Up:
Muzammil revealed that the breakup was mutual and respectful, though he was the one who ultimately decided to end things. He said they stayed in touch for some time even after parting ways but eventually lost contact after Deepika got married.
“I broke it off because I didn’t want to get involved in a public or industry-driven relationship. We were young. We had different paths,” he explained.
Deepika Padukone Yet to Respond:
As of now, Deepika Padukone, who is now married to actor Ranveer Singh, has not commented on Muzammil’s claims. Known for keeping her personal life private in recent years, it remains to be seen whether she will address this revelation publicly.
