Customs refers to the agency or authority in a country responsible for collecting tariffs and regulating the movement of goods, animals, transportation, personal effects, and hazardous items in and out of the country.

Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) [India], August (POWER CORRIDORS): A passenger arriving from Dubai at Tiruchirappalli International Airport on August 23, 2023 was arrested by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) and one piece of 24K pure gold, weighing 191.000 grams and valued at Rs. 11.33 Lakh, was seized. The gold was cleverly sprayed on a transparent polythene sheet wrapped around a carton box.

Based on intelligence, the AIU, Trichy Airport seized one piece of Gold of 24K purity weighing 191.000 grams and valued at Rs. 11.33 Lakh.

The Gold bar was extracted from Gold sprayed on transparent polythene sheet wrapped around a carton box by a passenger who arrived from Dubai on 23.08.2023.

The Customs Department is currently conducting further investigations.

The Customs Department seized the gold, worth Rs. 11.33 Lakh, from a passenger who arrived from Dubai on August 23, 2023, at Tiruchirappalli International Airport. The passenger was traveling from Dubai and was carrying a Gold bar sprayed on a transparent polythene sheet wrapped around a carton box. The Customs officials intercepted him and seized 191.000 grams of gold.
