AAP leader Atishi to take oath today at the Raj Bhavan along with five MLAs; swearing-in at 4:30 pm
AAP leader Atishi, along with five MLAs, will be sworn in as the youngest Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday as part of the new council of ministers. The quiet swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 4.30 pm at the Raj Bhavan.
AAP veterans Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, along with Atishi and Imran Hussain, will take their oath today. A first-time MLA from Sultanpur Majra and AAP’s Dalit representative, Mukesh Ahlawat, will be joining the Delhi Cabinet as a new member.
It is uncertain whether the portfolios will be reshuffled in the new council of ministers. In the previous Kejriwal administration, Atishi managed 13 important areas such as finance, revenue, PWD, power, and education.

Atishi will be third female Chief Minister of Delhi
Atishi, a graduate from Oxford University and recipient of the Rhodes scholarship, will become the third female Chief Minister of the national capital, following in the footsteps of Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit.
Atishi’s ascent in the AAP, from adviser in 2015 to MLA in 2020 and Chief Minister in 2024, has been rapid. While working as an adviser to former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, she stood out and is acknowledged for her significant contribution to enhancing the quality of education in government schools in Delhi.
Apart from preparing the party for the crucial election, the Atishi government will have to fast-track pending welfare schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 and doorstep delivery of services.
