In a significant anti-terror operation, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) apprehended an individual in Varanasi accused of espionage for Pakistan. The suspect, known as Tufail, was allegedly transmitting sensitive and classified information regarding India to Pakistan.

Tufail, a resident of Varanasi, is reported to have contacted multiple Pakistani nationals and shared information that might jeopardize national security.

Tufail used to share sensitive information with Pak

During the investigation, it was revealed that Tufail was reportedly sharing images of critical sites, such as Rajghat, Namo Ghat, Gyanvapi, the railway station, and even the Red Fort, with individuals from Pakistan.

Additionally, he participated in various WhatsApp groups where he frequently shared videos of Maulana Saad Rizvi, the leader of Tehreek-e-Labbaik and a recognized extremist.

The authorities discovered that he additionally circulated inflammatory messages, demanding retaliation for Babri Masjid and advocating for the enforcement of Sharia law.

The suspected spy is reported to have participated in distributing WhatsApp group links in Varanasi that connected locals with Pakistani networks.

He was additionally in contact with a Pakistani woman named Nafisa, whose spouse is said to be in the Pakistani Army. Tufail is thought to have been connected with around 600 Pakistanis.

The UP ATS is presently examining the complete scope of Tufail’s actions and connections. This progression underscores increasing worries about digital spying and extremist propaganda disseminated through social media channels.

Further information is being awaited.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
