A new development has emerged in the Siya Goyal murder case, with investigators examining an alleged Snapchat conversation that could provide fresh clues into the suspected conspiracy behind the death of Ketan Agarwal. According to sources, the deleted chat allegedly contains a reference to a “wedding that is never going to happen,” a message now under scrutiny as police continue their investigation.
Authorities claim that Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary used coded language, symbols, and nicknames while communicating to avoid detection after the alleged murder. The authenticity of the alleged Snapchat messages has not yet been independently verified, and investigators are still examining their evidentiary value.
Alleged Snapchat Chat Under Investigation
According to sources familiar with the investigation, an alleged Snapchat conversation between Siya Goyal and one of her friends has come to light.
In the purported exchange, Siya allegedly asked her friend to share a copy of her Aadhaar card for booking flight tickets, writing:
“Send me your Aadhaar card to book tickets for a wedding that is never going to happen.”
Investigators are examining whether the alleged message was part of a plan to create the impression that wedding preparations were continuing, thereby diverting suspicion from the alleged murder conspiracy. Police have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the chat, and its role in the case remains under investigation.
Police Claim Coded Conversations Were Used
Investigators told the court that forensic recovery of deleted mobile data indicates Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary allegedly communicated through coded messages, sign language, and nicknames to conceal the meaning of their conversations.
Police argued that further custodial interrogation was necessary to decode these exchanges, establish the motive, and understand each accused’s role in the alleged conspiracy.
However, the local court rejected the police’s request for additional custody, sending both accused to 14 days of judicial custody.
What Police Told the Court
Investigating Officer Manoj Pawar informed the court that investigators have:
- Conducted a panchnama at the location where Siya Goyal allegedly tore Ketan Agarwal’s passport.
- Seized clothing believed to be relevant to the investigation.
- Retrieved and analysed data from Siya’s second mobile phone, which reportedly revealed coded conversations.
- Requested an identification parade involving eyewitnesses.
The defence argued that the investigation had not uncovered any significant new evidence that justified extended police custody.
Court Rejects Narco Test Request
The issue of conducting a narco analysis test was also discussed during the hearing.
The court clarified that a narco test cannot be conducted without the accused’s consent. Since both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary declined to consent, permission for the test was refused. The prosecution also informed the court that it was not pressing for a narco analysis at this stage.
Ketan Agarwal Death Case: What the FIR Alleges
According to the FIR filed by Vishal Devichand Agarwal, Ketan Agarwal left his home on June 18 and picked up his fiancée Siya Goyal near Kiwale Bridge before the two travelled to Lohagad Fort.
The complaint alleges that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary pushed Ketan into a gorge, resulting in his death.
Police said that at around 10:45 AM, Siya called Ketan’s mother and claimed he had accidentally fallen from the fort. Local residents and police later rescued him from the gorge and shifted him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Family Questions Accident Theory
According to the FIR, Ketan Agarwal’s father and relatives revisited the location on June 21 and concluded that the terrain made an accidental fall highly unlikely.
The family has also alleged that Siya Goyal’s phone remained continuously engaged after the incident and claimed she frequently mentioned Chetan Chaudhary, leading them to suspect the two were in a relationship.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are continuing to examine digital evidence, witness statements, and forensic findings to determine the circumstances surrounding Ketan Agarwal’s death.
