Mumbai, July 5 — Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has begun a new chapter in his life, marrying longtime partner Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony held at his Bandra residence. The private wedding, attended by close family and a handful of friends, marked the culmination of a relationship rooted in a friendship that dates back 25 years.
According to reports, the couple officially registered their marriage on July 5 before celebrating with a warm, home-style gathering. Shortly after the ceremony, Aamir Khan’s PR team shared the first official photograph of the newlyweds on social media, accompanied by the heartfelt caption: “A celebration of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Step inside Aamir Khan’s wedding festivities, filled with warmth, joy, and the magic of a truly unforgettable celebration.”
A Small Wedding, A Big Milestone
Unlike the grandeur often associated with celebrity weddings, Aamir and Gauri chose a deeply personal celebration. Around 150 guests attended the ceremony, including family members who travelled from overseas.
The actor’s children—Junaid, Ira, and Azad—were present for the special occasion, alongside Gauri’s six-year-old son, making it a true family celebration.
Speaking to the media ahead of the wedding during the screening of Rajkumar Hirani’s Pritam and Pedro series, Aamir described the ceremony as a simple, heartfelt affair.
“The wedding is on July 5. We’re hosting it at home. It’s a very small wedding and a very special day for us. Our families and a few close friends will be there,” he said.
Requesting blessings from fans, the actor added, “We’re celebrating it at home. We just need everyone’s prayers so that we stay happy and have a wonderful journey together. It’s a very intimate, homely affair.”

A Journey to Love
Aamir first introduced Gauri Spratt to the public during celebrations for his 60th birthday. Revealing that the two had first met nearly 25 years ago, the actor shared that they had reconnected and had been in a committed relationship for over two years.
The introduction was filled with warmth and humour. Aamir revealed that Gauri works in production and joked that he sings to her every day. With a playful nod to his iconic film Lagaan, he quipped, “Bhuvan ko apni Gauri mil gayi,” before serenading her with a few lines from the classic song Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein.
He also introduced Gauri to close friends Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan during a gathering at his Mumbai residence.
Finding Love at 60
In one of his most candid interviews, Aamir reflected on discovering love later in life.
“To be very honest, I had reached a point where I felt I probably wouldn’t find someone who could be my life partner. I wasn’t expecting it. Gauri brings a lot of calm and steadiness into my life. She’s an amazing person, and I feel incredibly fortunate.”
The actor also spoke with maturity and gratitude about his previous relationships.
“While our marriages may not have worked, our lives did. I have immense respect for Reena, Kiran, and now Gauri. I look up to all of them in many ways.”
A Family Built on Respect
Before marrying Gauri, Aamir was married to film producer Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. Although the couple separated in 2021, they continue to co-parent their son, Azad, and have maintained a warm friendship.
Gauri, too, is a mother to a six-year-old son, whom she has largely kept away from the public eye.
Who Is Gauri Spratt?
Originally from Bengaluru, Gauri Spratt comes from a creative and entrepreneurial background. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who owned a well-known salon in the city.
After studying at Blue Mountain School, Gauri pursued fashion education at the University of the Arts London, where she completed the FDA Styling & Photography programme in 2004. She currently runs a BBlunt salon in Mumbai and has built a successful career in the beauty and fashion industry.
A New Beginning
Over the past year, Aamir and Gauri have increasingly stepped into the public eye together, making appearances at several events, including the Macau International Comedy Festival in China. Their quiet romance, built on years of friendship and mutual understanding, has now blossomed into marriage.
In an industry often defined by spectacle, Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt’s wedding stood out for its simplicity, warmth, and authenticity—a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the ones shared with the people who matter most.
