At the formal State Visit’s final function, American singer Mary Millben approached Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet to ask for his grace after performing Jana Gana Mana, the national hymn of India.

At an invitation-only event hosted at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Centre in Washington, DC, 38-year-old Millben performed the Indian national song. The United States Indian Community Foundation (USICF) served as the event’s host.
Mary Millben, who is a prominent African-American Hollywood actress and singer, enjoys popularity in India for singing National Anthem Jan Gana Mana and Om Jai Jagdish Hare.
Before the event, Millben had said that she was “deeply honoured” to get this opportunity of performing the Indian national anthem for Prime Minister Modi.
