The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) has filed a complaint with the Kerala DGP, alleging Mohandas’ remarks incite violence and undermine citizens’ constitutional right to peaceful protest.

New Delhi, July 27: Kerala-based RSS ideologue T.G. Mohandas has come under intense criticism after advocating the use of lethal force against students who participated in the recent protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak.
Speaking in a video uploaded on the YouTube channel Pathrika, Mohandas said that, if he were in charge, he would have imposed a curfew within a four-kilometre radius of the protest site, issued three warnings asking demonstrators to disperse, and then ordered the police to open fire if they refused to leave.
Describing the scenario in stark terms, he said the protesters would run, some would be killed, others injured, and the bodies would later be removed and taken to hospitals. He also drew widespread condemnation for making derogatory and inflammatory remarks about women participating in the demonstrations, referring to them as “rape-loving women” and making comments that many critics described as trivialising or encouraging sexual violence.
The remarks rapidly circulated across social media, prompting a wave of outrage. Critics accused Mohandas of openly advocating state violence against citizens exercising their democratic right to peaceful protest and of using language that was both misogynistic and deeply offensive.

Who is T.G. Mohandas?
T.G. Mohandas is a prominent RSS-aligned author, political commentator and columnist from Kerala. Trained as both an engineer and a lawyer, he has worked as a journalist, television presenter and public intellectual. He previously headed the BJP’s Intellectual Cell in Kerala and has held several positions in organisations associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

AISF Demands Criminal Action
The All India Students’ Federation (AISF), the student wing affiliated with the Communist Party of India (CPI), has lodged a complaint with the Kerala Director General of Police seeking criminal proceedings against Mohandas. The organisation alleged that his statements amounted to incitement to violence and called for immediate legal action, arguing that advocating the shooting of peaceful protesters strikes at the heart of India’s constitutional guarantees of free speech, peaceful assembly and democratic dissent.
The controversy has reignited a broader debate over the handling of student-led protests, with critics warning that rhetoric endorsing the use of deadly force against demonstrators threatens democratic norms and could further inflame tensions surrounding public protests in the country.
