The trailer for Pankaj Tripathi’s next movie, Main Atal Hoon, which was just released, explores important moments in the life of the late former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The trailer features significant events such as the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the early political challenges of Atal Bihari, the opposition to Indira Gandhi during the Emergency, the demolition of the Babri Masjid, the Pokhran nuclear test, and the Kargil War.

According to the description, the trailer shows Atal Bihari Vajpayee in a capacity other than that of a prime minister, statesman, and poet. The opening scene features Pankaj Tripathi, also known as Vajpayee, watching a movie, highlighting the impact of the media on public opinion.

As the scenes play out, Vajpayee is shown taking criticism and dealing with complexity, including talking about Nathuram Godse’s affiliation with the RSS, a group that Vajpayee was a member of. The story examines the difficulties, including comments regarding the RSS being called a communal organisation and the idea that a Hindu political party could be a danger to the country.

As Main Atal Hoon’s trailer goes on, it shows Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s resistance to Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi during the Emergency. After that, there is a brief exchange with the late President Abdul Kalam in which he congratulates Vajpayee on the outcome of the nuclear test at Pokhran.

The trailer showcases Vajpayee’s actions, including starting a bus service between Pakistan and India and going to Ayodhya on his own volition after the Babri Masjid was demolished. The Kargil War role of Vajpayee is the subject of the latter portion of the trailer.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
