Israel conducts strikes in Yemen, including fighter jets, power plants and a sea port
Israel conducted attacks on Houthi sites in Yemen on Sunday, with Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stating that their forces are willing to strike anywhere.
According to a statement by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), numerous airplanes, fighter jets, power plants, and a sea port at the Ras Issa and Hodeidah ports in Yemen were attacked in the airstrikes.
“The IDF attacked power plants and a port, which are used to import oil. Through the targeted infrastructure and ports, the Houthi regime transfers Iranian weapons to the region, and supplies for military purposes, including oil,” the IDF said in a statement.
Four killed, 29 injured in Israeli strikes
As per the health ministry controlled by the Houthis, four individuals lost their lives and 29 others were injured in the Israeli attacks.
Israeli military has initiated fierce airstrikes on Iran-supported groups in the area, targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.

Israeli strikes in retaliation to recent Houthi attacks against Israel
The Israeli airstrikes on Houthis were in retaliation for the Yemeni military group launching missiles and drones at Israel recently in support of Palestinians.
The Houthis increased assaults on Israel following the assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

After the airstrikes in Yemen, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant tweeted, “The message is clear, for us, no place is too far.”
Hezbollah, who promised retaliation against Israel for the assassination of their leader, initiated a counterstrike by launching rockets towards northern Israel. Israel verified that 35 rockets were fired from Lebanese land, with 25 hitting open areas close to Haifa Bay. The IDF stated that no individuals were harmed.
Lebanon seeking diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire with Israel
Meanwhile, Lebanon is trying diplomatic measures to achieve a ceasefire with Israel.
Lebanon’s acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated in a televised address that his country has “no option” but to rely on diplomatic measures to halt Israel’s aggression.
In the past 14 days, Israel has increased its operations in Lebanon, resulting in over 1,000 deaths confirmed by Beirut due to the attacks. Thousands of individuals left their houses in southern Lebanon and entered Syria to escape Israeli bombings.

The United States also backed a ceasefire agreement despite Israel’s rejection of the proposal and their directive to carry out attacks to kill Nasrallah.
White House national security spokesperson John Kirby told CNN, “An all-out war with Hezbollah, certainly with Iran, is not the way to do that. If you want to get those folks back home safely and sustainably, we believe that a diplomatic path is the right course.”
