In his Diwali post on X, ex-US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized the “barbaric violence” against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, and also took a jibe at Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden.

In a Diwali message, he criticized Harris – his Democratic opponent in the presidential race – and Biden for “ignoring Hindus” globally and in the US. “I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians and other minorities who are getting attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh, which remains in a total state of chaos,” he tweeted.

“It would never have happened on my watch. Kamala and Joe have ignored Hindus across the world and in America. They have been a disaster from Israel to Ukraine to our own Southern Border but we will Make America Strong Again and bring back peace through strength,” the post further read.

If re-elected, the 78-year-old promised to enhance his ties with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who he referred to as a “good friend.”

‘Anti-Hindu’ violence in Bangladesh during July-August

During July-August, numerous Hindu community members in Bangladesh faced violence and saw their properties and stores destroyed by mobs following a student demonstration against a disputed quota system that escalated into a large-scale anti-government rally, leading to the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Even after Sheikh Hasina fled to India on August 5, violence against Hindus persisted in Bangladesh for several days.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
