Prithvi and Nilesh Arrested in Jamnagar cyanide murder case

Police arrested Prithvi Mavadiya and her alleged lover Nilesh for the murder of Jignesh Dharmeshbhai Mavadiya. Investigators allege the couple mixed cyanide into Jignesh’s liquor, causing his death shortly after he consumed it.

According to police, the accused transported Jignesh’s body to an industrial complex. They allegedly dug a 12-foot-deep pit and buried the body beneath the factory floor. They later sealed the pit with concrete to hide the crime.

Crime Hidden For Nearly Two Years

For nearly two years, the Jamnagar cyanide murder case remained undiscovered. Whenever relatives asked about Jignesh, Prithvi allegedly claimed that he had moved to Australia for work. She reportedly told family members that strict company rules prevented him from using his phone.

The case came to light after Jignesh’s brother, Ashok, grew suspicious and filed a missing person complaint. During the investigation, police questioned the accused extensively. According to investigators, Prithvi eventually confessed and revealed the exact burial location.

Police recovered skeletal remains from the site and sent them for DNA analysis to confirm the identity. The investigation is continuing, and authorities are collecting further forensic evidence.

Jamnagar Cyanide Murder Case Draws Comparison From Real Life and Movies

The Jamnagar cyanide murder case has drawn comparisons on social media to the film Drishyam, in which a body is concealed to cover up a crime. However, investigators have not linked the case to the movie, and the comparison is based solely on similarities in the alleged method of concealment.

The case has also attracted attention because it follows several other high-profile homicide investigations involving alleged marital relationships that have dominated public discussion in recent months. The Jamnagar cyanide murder case has once again raised concerns about premeditated crimes, betrayal, and the lengths some accused individuals allegedly go to conceal a murder.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
