Free UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) tutoring is being offered to students at the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), Center for Coaching and Career Planning, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) (with dormitory facility).
RCA is a well-known academy that specializes in preparing students for Civil Service exams. It offers free coaching and training to students in a structured learning curriculum, as well as a library open around-the-clock and one of the best environments in the nation for those preparing for competitive exams and the Civil Service.
Numerous successful graduates of the academy in the past have included the UPSC top scorer in the Civil Services examination as well as other Central and State Services high scorers. More than 600 selections in Civil Services and other Central and State Services have been made by RCA since its founding.
A formal announcement from JMI states that candidates who identify as women, SC, ST, or members of minority groups and who want to prepare for the UPSC CSE 2025 are eligible for free coaching, which includes a hostel.
The deadline for students to submit their online applications is May 19, 2024, with submissions accepted starting on March 18, 2024. Applicants may make changes to their personal information on the application form between May 21 and 22, 2024, as stated in the announcement.
On June 1, 2024, the entrance exam will be held at the ten exam locations which are Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Malappuram.
Pattern for Entrance Exam
There will be two papers on the test: Paper I, which is general studies, and Paper II, which is essay.
Paper I would be an objective exam in English, Hindi, and Urdu that follows the UPSC pattern.
Language choices for Paper II would include English, Hindi, and Urdu.
Three hours will be allotted for the exam: one hour for the essay and two hours for general studies.
For incorrect answers, one-third of the mark will be deducted.
Process of selection
Only the essays from the top 900 students will be assessed, based on the candidate’s merit in Paper I.
The shortlisted candidates will subsequently participate in an online interview stage.
JMI states that in the event of a tie, a candidate’s superior interview score will be taken into account. Should there still be a tie, the candidate who is younger in age will be chosen.
Eligibility Criteria
The notification states that graduates who meet the requirements to apply for the UPSC CSE 2025 are also qualified to take the RCA-JMI entrance exam.

The application must be submitted online at http://jmicoe.in with a fees of ₹950 or the equivalent amount.
