Indian-American dies in Oklahoma after being punched in face
A 59-year-old Indian-American man died in Oklahoma after being hit in the face. The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on June 22, when police were summoned to a motel parking lot near Interstate 40 and Meridian Avenue.
According to media accounts, the victim, Hemant Mistry, was the motel manager.
Mistry, originally from Gujarat, was hit by the accused, 41-year-old Richard Lewis, when the former requested him to leave the property.

CCTV footage show Lewis punching Mistry in face
Police informed the local media Mistry fell unconscious after being punched. He was transferred to the hospital, where he died at approximately 7.40 p.m. on June 23.
“Police were summoned to a motel parking lot in reference to an assault. Officers arrived and learned 59-year-old Hemant Mistry was in the process of asking 41-year-old Richard Lewis to leave the property. While doing so, Lewis punched Mistry one time, knocking him unconscious,” the Oklahoma police noted in an official release.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Lewis punching Mistry, causing him to immediately fall and sustain fatal injuries.
