Casualties and Embassy Support
The funeral of Mr. Mohammed Yousef Ali, who died in the Riyadh airport attack, was held on October 12. The Indian Ambassador and Embassy officials attended the funeral.
On the condition of Indian nationals injured in the attack, the Embassy said four persons remain in ICU, four are receiving treatment in the normal ward, and three have been discharged. Embassy officials continue to visit the hospitals and are in regular contact with the families of those affected.
Flight Suspensions
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation has suspended operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Operations at other major airports, including Dammam, Jeddah and Medina, are continuing but with disruptions.
Major Indian carriers have suspended flights until October 17:
- Air India and Air India Express have halted services to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah.

Some Saudia flights continue to operate from Dammam, Jeddah and Medina, while Flynas is running scheduled services on the Dammam-Lucknow sector. The Embassy advised nationals to stay in regular contact with their airlines and verify the latest flight status. Those seeking emergency departure may also consider flights from neighbouring Gulf countries such as Qatar and Bahrain, subject to visa requirements.
Visa and Assistance Measures
Saudi authorities have informed the Embassy that Indian nationals on Visit, Tourist, Umrah or Business visas who overstayed due to the unavailability of flights will be allowed to exit without fines. They have been advised to leave at the earliest once flights resume.
The Embassy has set up a 24×7 Control Room to assist Indian nationals. Contact details include:
