‘Injuries part of athlete’s life’: Gambhir
Gambhir believed that injuries are a part of an athlete’s life and that a player should try to participate in all three formats if he is fit to play.
“Injuries are a part of sportsmen’s lives. And if you get injured while playing all three forms, you can return and recover, but you should play all three. I’m not a huge believer in identifying players and saying, “Okay, we’re going to keep him for Test matches, and we’re going to manage his injury and workload and stuff,” Gambhir said in a video posted by Star Sports.
“Look, professional cricketers, you have a pretty narrow span. When playing for your country, you want to play as much as possible. When you’re in peak form, go ahead and play all three formats,” Gambhir advised.

“Cricket not an individual sport”
Gambhir stressed on the fact that Cricket is not an individual sport but a team game.
“There’s only one message: strive to play with honesty. Try to be as honest as you can in your profession. All of the results will follow. When I picked up the bat, I never considered the outcome. I never expected to. I want to score this many runs. I’ve always believed that I should be as honest as possible in my work. Live by particular ideas, values, and endeavor to do the right thing, even if you believe the entire world is against you. But your heart knows you’re doing what’s best for the squad,” Gambhir remarked.
