Sivaraman was apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting minor

Former Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) functionary A Sivaraman, who was arrested for allegedly raping a minor student at a fake NCC camp, died at a hospital in Tamil Nadu’s Salem, officials said on Friday. The 30-year-old accused was caught by cops as he was trying to flee and had consumed rat poison.

Sivaraman was arrested on August 18, during which he attempted to escape, resulting in a leg fracture. Following his arrest, he was admitted to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Following his initial treatment, Sivaraman was moved to the government hospital for specialized treatment, which included dialysis. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, Sivaraman passed away due to poisoning early on Friday morning.

Officials also disclosed that Sivaraman had ingested poison last month, allegedly because of family problems, and had received medical care at a private hospital for a period of eight to nine days.

Sivaraman allegedly assaulted 12-yo female student

Sivaraman reportedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old female student at a counterfeit National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp in Bargur, Krishnagiri district.

So far, eleven individuals, which include school officials and Sivaraman’s partners in crime, have been taken into custody.

In another occurrence, Sivaraman’s father passed away on Thursday evening when he fell off his motorcycle in Kaveripattinam. High-ranking officials have indicated that it seems to be a situation of self-induced fall.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
