Microsoft has warned that China could use Artificial Intelligence-generated content to influence upcoming elections in India, the United States and South Korea.
This warning comes after China used AI testing to influence the results during Taiwan’s presidential election. Let us tell you that national elections are going to be held in at least 64 countries across the world. These countries collectively account for about 49 percent of the global population.
Last month, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. During the meeting, both of them discussed women-led development, health including the use of AI.
Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence team said that China will try to change the inclination of voters towards political parties or confuse them through artificial intelligence. He will post such content on social media which can change public opinion in favor of China during elections or show the importance of China in elections.

Microsoft said in its statement, “This year, elections are going to be held around the world, especially in India, South Korea and America. Our assessment is that China will create and deliver AI generated content that benefits its interests. ”
British media “The Guardian” wrote in its report that Microsoft has warned that the impact of this action of China will increase in the future. “AI generated content will have little immediate impact, but China’s growing experimentation with this technology could have more impact over time,” Microsoft said.
