NIA team attacked in East Medinipur
During a raid on Saturday morning in the East Medinipur district of Bengal, a team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was ambushed. The incident in the Bhupitaninagar region has resulted in injuries to an anti-terror agency officer.
A leader of the state’s ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) is accused in this case, the investigating agency team was targeted as soon as they reached his hideout. Bricks were thrown at the NIA team car, due to which the window of the car was damaged.

This incident took place early in the morning at 5.30 am. There is also information about an officer being injured. Let us tell you that on December 3, 2022, there was an explosion in Bhupatinagar, in which the entire roof of a house was blown away. 3 people had died. Last month, NIA had sent summons to 8 leaders of Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC for questioning in this case. Trinamool Congress is saying that NIA is working on the instructions of BJP.

The NIA team came under fresh attack while conducting a search operation during the raid. ‘India Today’ quoted NIA sources as saying that the local police station was already informed about the raid, but proper security arrangements were not made. After this the NIA team called backup. The investigating agency has filed a complaint against Manvendra Jana and unknown people in the local police station. NIA had arrived to arrest Mabvander Jana in connection with the blast that took place in Narayabila village.
Three people were killed in the December 2022 Bhupatinagar blast, which happened at the residence of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) politician in the Naryabila hamlet under the jurisdiction of the Bhupatinagar Police Station. The NIA started looking into the situation in June 2023.

ED team was attacked in Sandeshkhali
The NIA team was attacked just two months after an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team in Bengal’s Sandeshkhali was attacked on January 5.
About two months after he was on the run, Sheikh Shahjahan, the expelled TMC leader, was apprehended in connection with the attack. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also detained several of his acquaintances in relation to the attack on the ED team on January 5, including his brother and his security guard.
