As Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation to Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Sunday, state BJP chairman Samrat Chaudhary and leader of the opposition in the Bihar legislature Vijay Sinha were appointed as the state’s two Deputy chairman Ministers from the BJP.
The development came as Bihar MLAs, during the legislative party meeting, unanimously passed the proposal to form the NDA government in the state with BJP, JD(U) and other allies.
BJP’s national head JP Nadda will reach Patna this evening to finalise the Bihar realignment with Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), or JD(U).
Yesterday, there were reports that Sushil Kumar Modi, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Nitish Kumar’s deputy during the JD(U)-BJP coalition in the state, is sought to return.
When Sushil Modi was Bihar’s deputy chief minister, the opposition frequently called him “Nitish Kumar’s man” for publicly endorsing the chief minister.
Days after a deafening buzz that Nitish would rejoin the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he brought an end to the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ rule in the state today.
