US President Donald Trump gave a victorious speech to Congress on Tuesday, emphasizing his series of audacious policy decisions that have transformed America’s foreign relations, sparked trade conflicts with important allies, and greatly decreased the federal workforce — all during his initial six weeks in office.
“My fellow citizens, America is back,” Trump announced as Republican supporters greeted him with a standing ovation. “The US President stated, ‘In 43 days, we have accomplished more than others did in the past four years.'”
He notably mentioned India while emphasizing his administration’s dedication to implementing reciprocal tariffs. He also addressed his choice to prohibit diversity and inclusion initiatives within the federal government. “Our nation will no longer be woke,” he stated.
Key Highlights Of Trump’s First Congress Address
Donald Trump began his inaugural speech to Congress by emphasizing the economic difficulties facing the US and holding his predecessor Joe Biden accountable for inflation. Observing that egg prices have soared “out of control,” Trump vowed to restore affordability in America.
The US President also bragged about having endured four criminal cases — with just one reaching trial — while emphasizing his assertion that the Justice Department was weaponized against him politically. “We have brought back free speech… I signed an order making English the official language of the US,” he said.

Trump also stood by his tariff strategy, even though there are worries that it might increase consumer costs and hinder economic growth. “Whatever taxes they impose on us, we will impose on them,” Trump stated.
The US President, referring to a letter from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, noted that Ukraine had shown its willingness to engage in negotiations to conclude the war with Russia—just days following a confrontation at the White House. He stated that Zelenskyy has also consented to sign the minerals agreement.
In a broad statement opposing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, Trump promised to eliminate these policies throughout government, private industry, and the military. “Our country will no longer be woke. Whether you are a doctor, accountant, lawyer – you should be hired and promoted based on skill, not race or gender,” he said.
In a particularly viral moment of his speech, Trump named a 13-year-old boy, DJ Daniel, who has brain cancer, as a US Secret Service agent, thus making him the youngest person to achieve this title.
With his close advisor Elon Musk present, the 78-year-old Republican tycoon commended the tech leader who has spearheaded his administration’s initiatives to reduce the federal government. “Thank you, Elon,” Trump remarked while Democrats displayed signs saying “Musk steals.”
