Barbaric murder of Texas girl by illegal Venezuelan migrants
A 12-year-old Texas girl who was killed by illegal migrants last week battled until she died, leaving scratch and bite marks on one of the accused, according to prosecutors.
According to the New York Post, prosecutors disclosed the information at a court hearing on Tuesday attended by the girl’s mother.
The death of the Texas girl, discovered in a ditch last week, has revived a political discussion on the migrant issue in an election year in the United States. The Republicans have used the event to attack President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.

During the hearing, assistant district attorney Megan Long stated that one of the accused, Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, still had bite marks on him when detained.
The other accused, Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, claimed he tried to stop Martinez-Rangel, but he refused and strangled the girl.
Pena Ramos admitted to kissing the girl but told investigators that Martinez-Rangel was more physically abusive, according to Fox News.
Martinez-Rangel allegedly ordered his aide that he had to “finish what he started” by covering the young girl’s mouth during the attack, according to the lead prosecutor.
As barbaric as it can get
Prosecutors said the accused, who were inebriated, lured the girl under the bridge on June 17 and “took her pants off, tied her up, and killed her” during a two-hour period, according to The New York Times. The girl’s feet were bound and her back was covered with slashes.
The incident occurred when the girl sneaked out of her house to call her lover. Both defendants have been charged with capital murder.
Martinez-Rangel’s bail was set at $10 million by the Harris County District Court judge, who also labeled him a flight risk.
The judge explained that he set such a high bond sum because he did not want the accused to be deported and avoid prosecution in the United States.
