IAS KAP Sinha appointed Punjab’s Chief Secretary; to additionally hold charge of Principal Secretary Vigilance, General Administration and Vigilance
KAP Sinha, an IAS officer from the 1992 Batch (Punjab Cadre), officially assumed charge of the 43rd Chief Secretary of Punjab at the Punjab Civil Secretariat on Thursday, in the company of numerous senior officers. The current office holder would also perform the duties of Principal Secretary Vigilance, General Administration, and Vigilance.
During the occasion, Sinha expressed gratitude for the love and support he has received from the people of Punjab while serving in different departments. As he takes on his new role, he promises to work hard to repay the respect he has been given.
Sinha mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government will continue to offer citizen-centric services transparently and without any hassle, prioritizing the overall development of the State. He also stated that welfare schemes for the people will be implemented with increased enthusiasm.

Who is KAP Sinha?
A 1992-batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre KAP Sinha was at present serving as the Special Chief Secretary cum Financial Commissioner Revenue.
Sinha originally belongs to Bihar. He has done his Masters in Economics, LLM and B. Tech (Mining Engineering).
Earlier, he has worked in prestigious departments like Finance, Taxation, Food and Civil Supplies, Higher Education, Environment, Science & Technology, Parliamentary Affairs, and General Administration.
Additionally, he has provided exceptional services in the Union Ministry of External Affairs, Industries & Commerce, and Atomic Energy sectors while working in the Union Government.
He has participated in different National and International conferences and has also worked as the Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda and Gurdaspur during field postings.
