The ultimatum centers on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global oil route at the heart of the conflict. Trump reiterated his earlier 10-day deadline, saying “time is running out” as Washington signals a tougher military stance.

April 4, 2026: US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, saying it has just 48 hours left to comply with his demands or face severe consequences, escalating tensions in an already volatile conflict.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump reminded Tehran of a 10-day ultimatum he issued on March 26, calling on the country to either “make a deal” or reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route that Iran has sought to control amid the ongoing war.

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out — 48 hours before all Hell will rain down on them. Glory be to GOD!” Trump wrote.

The warning comes as the deadline approaches, raising fears of a sharp escalation in military action if Iran fails to comply. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical chokepoints, with a significant share of global oil shipments passing through it daily. Any disruption could have far-reaching economic and geopolitical consequences.

Trump’s remarks signal a hardening stance by Washington, with the administration framing the ultimatum as both a diplomatic and strategic pressure tactic. However, Iranian officials have so far shown little indication of yielding to US demands, instead vowing to defend their interests and maintain control over key regional waterways.

With just hours left before the deadline expires, uncertainty looms over whether the situation will move toward negotiation or further military escalation, potentially widening the conflict across the region

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
