CCTV captured three masked men entering and leaving Alka Lamba’s father’s Delhi home with a backpack after stealing cash and jewellery. Police are scanning footage from the area to identify them.

NEW DELHI/ August 30: Three masked men allegedly broke into the Tagore Garden home of Congress leader Alka Lamba’s 88-year-old father early Sunday morning and escaped with cash and jewellery within 10 minutes, with the entire incident captured on CCTV.
The incident took place at the house in C-Block, under the jurisdiction of Rajouri Garden police station, shortly after 6.15am. Police said the intruders stole ₹1.75 lakh in cash, a gold chain, a gold earring and a diamond ring. Lamba said her father was unharmed.
CCTV footage shows two masked men entering the house, followed by a third man who appears to have arrived on a motorcycle parked nearby. The three were later seen leaving with a black backpack.
Lamba, president of the All India Mahila Congress, shared the footage on X and said the men entered around 6.15am and “cleared everything out in 10 minutes”. She appealed to police to examine CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area and trace the suspects.

A PCR call was received at 10.23am, following which police teams inspected the house. An FIR was subsequently registered at Rajouri Garden on a complaint by Kanchan Chadha.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the house and nearby locations to identify the three suspects and establish their route before and after the burglary.

Police said teams have been formed to track the suspects and recover the stolen property. Investigators are also checking whether the accused had conducted a recce of the house beforehand and are examining the motorcycle used in the crime for clues that could help establish their identity.
