Maharashtra seat sharing deal
There has been talk of seat sharing between the MVA i.e. Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections. An agreement has been reached on seat sharing in the MVA alliance in Maharashtra and it has also been announced who will contest on how many seats.
According to the seat sharing formula announced in MVA, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena will contest maximum 21 seats, while Congress will contest 17 seats and Sharad Pawar’s NCP will contest 10 seats.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Nana Patole and Balasaheb Thorat held a press conference and announced seat sharing in MVA.
While Sangli seat has gone to Shiv Sena, NCP (Sharad faction) will contest on Bhiwandi. Earlier Congress was presenting its claim on this seat, but now it has become clear that Congress will not contest on these two seats.

During the press conference, Nana Patole said that we have announced seat sharing today with a heavy heart.
He said that the corrupt government has to be removed. Our workers in Sangli and Bhinwadi will definitely work for Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP). Congress votes will definitely be transferred to Shiv Sena and NCP. Now the topic of Bhiwandi and Sangli is over.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra was becoming increasingly tense as a result of the parties’ inability to come to an agreement on a few crucial seats, which led to the Opposition seat-sharing arrangement.

Congress leader and former Maharashtra minister Naseem Khan stated last month that the party desired a “friendly fight” in six Lok Sabha seats, adding that Congress workers were “angered” by the Shiv Sena’s (UBT) move to declare candidates for 17 seats prior to the finalization of the seat-sharing agreement. This further exacerbated the conflict.
