Pema Khandu takes oath as CM of Arunachal Pradesh
Pema Khandu, the BJP’s Legislative Party Leader, took oath as Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday for the third time after being unanimously chosen at a meeting in Itanagar on Wednesday.
Khandu, Mukto’s MLA, was sworn in by Governor KT Parnaik in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, and several other officials.
Khandu took oath in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and several other BJP leaders, including Kiren Rijiju, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Soon after Khandu, Chowna Mein took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
11 other MLAs also took oath as state ministers at the swearing-in ceremony held at DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar.
Third successive term as CM
Khandu, 44, became Arunachal Pradesh’s chief minister for the first time in 2016.
The BJP returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh for the third time in a row, gaining 46 of the 60 seats in the assembly. The Assembly elections were held concurrently with the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to ANI, the BJP won 10 seats unopposed in the state before to the election.
Tight security arrangements were undertaken before to the event. Assam Minister Ashok Singhal stated that there is enormous joy among the people as the BJP becomes the administration once more in the state.
“People are very excited. There is enthusiasm among everyone in the state. Once again, the BJP is forming a government in Arunachal under the leadership of Pema Khandu. He will take oath at 11 am today. The Chief Ministers of Assam, Tripura, and Sikkim will be there. Our responsibility is increasing because people are trusting us more,” Singhal told ANI.
