October 4: The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Angh) has accused the Indian Army of carrying out a drone strike on Langkho village in Myanmar’s Naga Self-Administered Zone, saying two civilians, including a child, were injured in the attack.
In a statement issued through its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the group said the strike took place in the early hours of October 3 and described it as an attack on non-combatants and a violation of international humanitarian law.
The allegation could not be independently verified.
The NSCN/GPRN said the strike severely injured two civilians, including a nine-year-old girl. It accused the Indian Army of targeting civilians and urged the United Nations and other international monitoring bodies to investigate what it described as “state-sponsored terrorism.”
“Targeting defenceless civilians out of battlefield frustration and as instruments of retaliation exposes a complete moral bankruptcy and degradation of Indian military ethics which constitutes an undeniable crime against humanity and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law,” the group said.
The group also warned individuals and Naga organisations it accused of providing intelligence or logistical support to Indian agencies that they would be held accountable.
It reiterated its stated commitment to protecting the Naga people, their land and “freedom” and expressed solidarity with the affected families and the Langkho community.
A separate account by the Ganglei Area Students Union (GASU) also reported a drone strike at Langkho Village in Lahe Township, in the Naga Self-Administered Zone of Myanmar’s Sagaing Region.
GASU said the incident took place at about 12:04 a.m. on October 2 at the residence of Col. Akham Konyak of NSCN-K (YA), near the village football ground. According to the students’ union, women and children were inside the house while Col. Akham Konyak was away.

GASU said his 12-year-old daughter, Shongmah, was injured in the strike. The union also alleged that the house and belongings were destroyed.
The reported attack on a house where women and children were present prompted GASU to call for an impartial and independent investigation. It said the reported injury to a minor and destruction of civilian property warranted serious concern.
The union appealed to all sides to exercise restraint and ensure the protection of civilians, particularly women and children. It also said it was ready to cooperate with any independent inquiry and expressed hope for the injured girl’s recovery.
