Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni made history by becoming the first player in IPL to claim 200 dismissals in the league. Dhoni accomplished the milestone against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 30th Match of the Indian Premier League 2025. Ayush Badoni of LSG became the 200th victim of Dhoni’s quick glovework when he was stumped by Raviindra Jadeja in the 14th over.
Consequently, Dhoni made history as the first player in the tournament to complete 200 dismissals, inscribing his name in golden letters in the IPL folkfore. The CSK captain excelled behind the stumps with his glove work, claiming three dismissals during the match.
After getting Badoni out, he caught Rishabh Pant to dismiss the LSG captain at 63 (49). He also executed an impressive run out of Abdul Samad as he gathered a wide ball down the leg side from Matheesha Pathirana and made a direct throw at the non-striker’s end.

Meanwhile, LSG achieved a respectable total of 166/7 in their alloted 20 overs, with captain Rishabh Pant rediscovering his form by scoring 63 runs off 49 balls. He received strong support from Mitchell Marsh (30 off 25), Ayush Badoni (22 off 17), and Abdul Samad (20 off 11).
For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja (2/24, 3 overs) and Matheesha Pathirana (2/45) took 2 wickets each, while Anshul Kamboj (1/20, 3 overs) and Noor Ahmad (0/13) delivered economical bowling performances.
