On Monday, Mumbai police served a notice to an individual from Vadodara in Gujarat regarding a death threat sent to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The threat message was sent to the Worli Traffic Control Room’s WhatsApp number yesterday.
In a statement, the police mentioned that throughout their inquiry, they identified the number belonging to a 26-year-old individual from a village close to Vadodara, and a summons has been sent for him to come for questioning in Mumbai in the next 2-3 days.
The police also mentioned that the individual is mentally ill and has been receiving treatment. “It is also alleged that the man is mentally unwell and is receiving treatment. The inquiry is ongoing by Worli Police,” the statement included.

Additional information regarding the man has not been disclosed, as law enforcement persists in exploring every potential aspect of the inquiry.
Police officials reported that the sender had menaced to detonate Khan’s vehicle and attack him at his home. The warning led Worli Police Station to file a case under Section 351(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal intimidation against an unknown individual.
At the same time, law enforcement has increased security around Khan’s home in Bandra and escalated patrols in the vicinity.
Salman has received numerous threats till now
Bollywood star Salman Khan has received numerous death threats throughout the years, with many traceable to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The actor is thought to be the target of the group due to his supposed involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching incident.
Despite Lawrence Bishnoi being held at Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad on charges like attempted murder and extortion, his associates reportedly fired shots outside Khan’s residence in Bandra last April.
Few weeks after the shooting, Navi Mumbai Police asserted they had discovered a scheme by the gang to assault Khan during one of his trips to his Panvel farmhouse, situated on the fringes of Mumbai.
